ADOPTIONS OF INDIANA is a licensed, not-for-profit, child-placing agency dedicated to giving hope to children, birth parents, and adoptive families. Adoption is one of the most profound events in the lives of children and birth and adoptive parents.
We exist to empower, equip, and support children and families by providing compassionate, respectful and professional adoption services through the entire process and throughout the adoptive lifecycle.

For South African Children: AOI partners to find loving, prepared, and permanent adoptive homes for children who have been orphaned.
For Adoptive Families: AOI provides adoptive preparation/home studies, adoption education, matching, placement, post-placement supervision, and ongoing adoption education and support services to adoptive families.
For Expectant/Birth Parents: AOI provides options counseling, specific financial assistance, pre- and post-placement counseling, support services, and special events at no cost.
For Adoptees: AOI provides search and reconnection services, counseling, support and special events.
For the Community: AOI provides continuing educational training sessions to community groups, clinics, schools, and hospitals and outreach through conferences, workshops and seminars.

M shares, "I encountered Adoptions of Indiana as a birth mother. They did a fantastic job of helping me come up with my adoption plan without being heavy handed or trying to push me in a certain direction - supportive rather than directive. The pre-birth counseling was done in such a way that I could have determined that adoption was not my best option - I wasn't just being helped to live with a decision that was what others wanted for me. Follow up counseling and support groups were also great. I loved having the opportunity to sit on a panel for a nursing in-service to help obstetrics nurses understand how to be more sensitive with their birth mother patients. Overall the spirit of the organization is to make sure all 3 parties (birth parents, adoptive parents, and infants) have the best possible outcome."

We love our volunteers and appreciate their devotion to our mission. Our 5K: IN IT FOR THE LONG RUN is completely volunteer organized and driven. We'd love to have your help as we expand this event to include a Family Fun Fair this year.

Funding Needs
We are always in need of funding to ensure that women in crisis pregnancies are provided adoption options counseling, specific financial assistance, and have needed long-term counseling and support services.
We also raise funds to find loving, prepared adoptive families for children with special needs and to help them meet the specific needs of their new child.
